About Us

Ever since I was a little girl I had a dream. Well, 16 years ago my dream began to come true! My name is Brittany Smith, with the help of my wonderful husband and two beautiful children we enjoy raising precious little puppies.

Growing up as a little girl my daddy raised big hunting dogs, I remember always having those furry friends everywhere. I loved every minute of it! Even though I had mostly big dogs as a child there was always a special place in my heart for the small ones. Each time I’d see a Chihuahua, Yorkie or really any toy breed dog, I would get butterflies in my stomach and a giant smile from ear to ear. If you are reading this I bet you know exactly what I’m talking about.

After high school, I attended 4 years of college, got lucky and found the love of my life. Not long after that, Mike and I married and bought our beautiful land out in the small, quiet, country community of Lena, LA. We built our quaint country home and started our beautiful family–four-legged and furry, as well as 2 legged and rowdy 🙂 This is when our happy family began to become complete!

I have to say that I LOVE raising precious toy breed puppies and have been for over 15 years now. It is just amazing the happiness, unconditional love and joy that our dogs bring into our lives. I love seeing the happy families faces light up and jaws drop open when they first see their new family member. It’s so cute to watch the puppies get equally as excited and see those tails just start wagging! I love getting those sweet letters, emails, texts and phone calls telling the happy stories of their life.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SINGAPURA

CHOOSING A VET:

Please take time to choose a vet. A cat vet would be great if you have a local one. Ask the vet if they are willing to do research on the breed, they are not the average moggie.  Especially if they need to go under anaesthetic, the Singapura have faster metabolisms so this affects the procedure.  Again, make sure the vet does their research.

BATHING: Now, they don’t necessarily like to the cleaned.  But it needs to be done. There is no hair to absorb the oil on a hairless cat so cleaning is essential.

There are some great cat bath wipes on the market at the moment…..I can recommend these “Quick Bath’ , you can see them on my “Products I Recommend” page.

I would give my cats a wipe down weekly.

With bathing, you will find if you give your cats a wipe weekly you will very rarely need to wash them.  Remember better the shampoo the longer they will keep clean.  Water should be warm, like for a human baby.

You can use any sensitive, pure/ natural baby shampoo.

NAILS: I do a nail cutting at each bath time.  It is not nessacery but it helps preserve your furniture and injury to yourself at playtime.  (those things are like razor blades!)

EARS: Again, I clean the ears well at each bath time.  The Singapura does not have hair in their ears to keep out debris, so you need to keep them clean.

EYES: This is important.  Again, the Singapura does not have eye lashes, so it has no protection from dust and debris entering and irritating the eyes.
